Additional T & C

Liberty Travel, an IATA-accredited travel agency 02200122 (NIPT L42412003A), with headquarters in Tirana, Albania.

1. The Role of Liberty Travel

Liberty Travel operates as an intermediary between the customer and third-party suppliers — airlines, hotels, car rental companies, activity operators, etc.

For any booking that includes services created by third-party suppliers (flights, hotels, rental cars, third-party package tours), Liberty Travel acts merely as a sales agent and is not a party to the service contract between the customer and the supplier. Consequently, Liberty Travel bears no liability for the quality, performance, or non-performance of the service on the part of the supplier.

We advise you to read carefully the specific terms of each supplier (cancellation, refund, and change policies) before confirming the booking.

2. Booking Confirmation and Travel Documents

2.1 Conflicting bookings. Our platform does not automatically check for overlaps (e.g., two flights to the same destination with clashing schedules). Such bookings do not qualify for a refund and are subject to the terms of the relevant supplier.

2.2 Customer obligations regarding legal requirements. The customer is solely responsible for:

  • Meeting the legal requirements of the destination (visa, passport, health/vaccination documents);
  • Verifying additional requirements (child seats, special permits).

Liberty Travel and its suppliers do not provide advice on these requirements and do not guarantee that the customer will meet them. Failure to comply may result in refusal of service with no right to a refund.

2.3 Electronic confirmation. Confirmations are normally sent in electronic form. If vouchers or documents are not issued immediately (due to technical or supplier-related reasons), they will be sent to the customer by email. If the customer does not receive the documents within the expected time, they must notify Liberty Travel immediately — otherwise the risk of penalties or of being unable to use the service falls on the customer.

2.4 Visas and entry requirements. The customer contacts the relevant embassies/authorities themselves for accurate information on visas and entry requirements. Liberty Travel bears no liability and provides no compensation for unreliable documentation on the customer's part.

3. Protection of Personal Data

Liberty Travel processes personal data in accordance with Law No. 9887, dated 10.03.2008 "On the Protection of Personal Data" (as amended), applying technical and organizational measures pursuant to Article 27 of the law to prevent unauthorized access or loss of data.

  • The customer is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their own credentials (email, password); Liberty Travel is not liable for consequences arising from a leak caused by the customer.
  • Although we take reasonable security measures, we do not guarantee absolute security against viruses or malicious software; we recommend that the customer use antivirus software and secure connections.
  • Data is collected and processed only for clearly defined purposes (Article 6) and with the customer's prior consent, confidentially and exclusively for the purpose of collection (Article 28).
  • By using our services, the customer accepts these terms. For further information, the customer may contact the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Protection of Personal Data.

4. Payments

4.1 Service fee. Due to card processing costs, a service fee (4%–10%) applies to bookings of flights, hotels, packages, transfers, rental cars, activities, and groups. This fee is already included in the final price displayed.

4.2 Payment methods.

  • Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted for most services.
  • For charters, payment is accepted only by bank transfer — not by card.
  • For certain services a credit card may be required as a guarantee (the customer is notified during booking).

4.3 Payment deadlines. Full payment must be made at the time of booking or within the deadline communicated. Failure to pay on time entitles Liberty Travel to suspend or cancel the booking without prior notice. Partial payments made before cancellation may be subject to non-refundable fees.

4.4 The customer is responsible for ensuring that payment is made according to the instructions; non-compliance may result in delays, cancellation, or additional penalties, with no liability for Liberty Travel.

5. Refund Policy

5.1 The service fee (4%–10%) always remains non-refundable, regardless of the reason for the refund — it covers unavoidable administrative costs.

5.2 B2C customers. Refunds are made in one of the following ways:

  • Credit to the same original payment method; or
  • Deposit into the customer's account with Liberty Travel, usable for future bookings.

5.3 For bookings in foreign currency, the refunded amount may vary due to exchange rate fluctuations — Liberty Travel bears no liability for these differences.

5.4 Every refund is processed only after confirmation from the relevant supplier (airline, hotel, etc.) regarding the entitlement to and the amount of the refund.

6. Bookings with Deferred Payment

6.1 If the customer chooses deferred payment, the system automatically generates a payment deadline, shown on the confirmation.

6.2 The booking appears as "confirmed" even while payment is pending, but remains conditional — it is automatically cancelled if full payment is not made within the deadline.

6.3 The customer bears full responsibility for observing the deadline; automatic cancellation following non-payment does not generate any liability for Liberty Travel.

7. Booking Status

  • The customer can check the status in the "Bookings" section of their account or on the booking voucher.
  • A booking is considered fully confirmed only when the status shows "Completed".
  • Other statuses (e.g., "Awaiting confirmation", "On request") require immediate contact with the Liberty Travel support team for clarification.
  • Failure by the customer to clarify an incomplete status may result in cancellation, with no liability on our part.

8. Extraordinary Circumstances (Force Majeure)

Liberty Travel does not guarantee refunds or modifications beyond what supplier policies provide in cases of force majeure — natural disasters, acts of terrorism, war, civil unrest, strikes, epidemics/pandemics, government restrictions, or any unforeseeable event beyond our reasonable control.

  • In such cases, Liberty Travel bears no liability for delays or non-performance of contractual obligations directly connected to the event.
  • The customer must give immediate notice if force majeure prevents them from fulfilling their obligations; a delay in notifying may limit the available remedies.
  • Where possible, we assist with rescheduling, but refunds depend entirely on the supplier's policies — we do not guarantee a full or partial refund.
  • We bear no liability for indirect losses or additional expenses caused by force majeure. We strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellations and interruptions.
  • For lost personal items or delayed baggage, the customer must report directly to the local authorities or the supplier (airline, hotel).

9. Services by Category

9.1 Flights

  • Every ticket is subject to the airline's fare rules (cancellation, refund, itinerary change). The customer must review these before confirming.
  • Change/cancellation requests are notified to Liberty Travel and processed by the support team — not automatically.
  • A per-passenger fee applies for changes/cancellations/refunds; booking and service fees remain non-refundable.
  • Refunds are subject to airline authorization and may be delayed; partially used tickets are generally non-refundable; tickets submitted after 1 year are considered expired.
  • The name on the passport must match the ticket exactly; changes for legal reasons (e.g., marriage) must be notified immediately and are subject to airline approval.
  • For itineraries with independent segments, changing/cancelling one segment does not necessarily affect the other segments.

9.2 Hotels

  • Cancellation/change policies are set out in the confirmation email — they must be read carefully.
  • Change/cancellation requests are submitted formally to Liberty Travel and reviewed by our team.
  • If the hotel cancels/changes a confirmed booking, we notify you immediately; if there is no acceptable alternative, you are entitled to a full refund.
  • Star ratings are based on supplier information, are for guidance only, and are not guaranteed to be accurate; verify details directly with the hotel.
  • Complaints at the destination should first be addressed to the hotel staff; if unresolved, contact our support team.

9.3 Transfers

  • The customer must follow the voucher instructions (timing, meeting point); non-compliance may result in loss of the service with no liability for us.
  • Delays caused by unforeseen circumstances (traffic, operational issues) are not the responsibility of Liberty Travel; notify the support team immediately.
  • For children/infants, the customer must verify local laws and request suitable seats in advance.

9.4 Activities

  • Follow the voucher instructions; non-compliance may result in loss of the activity.
  • Cancellations by the supplier due to weather/operational disruptions are handled case by case, with the possibility of a refund or rescheduling according to the supplier's policy.

9.5 Rental Cars

  • The local supplier's policies apply: driver age (usually 30–60 years, may vary), a valid driving licence, and a credit card for the security deposit.
  • Failure to present the required documentation may result in refusal of service without a refund.
  • For children, advance notice is required regarding seats; additional fees may apply.

9.6 Dynamic Packages

  • Each service within the package (flight, hotel, transfer) is subject to its own policy — not to a single combined policy. For example, a date change may be permitted for the hotel but not for the flight.
  • Unexpected changes to one service do not automatically affect the others; notify Liberty Travel immediately about the affected service.

9.7 Groups

  • Group offers are "on request"; a response is provided within 48 hours by our team.
  • After confirmation, the cancellation/change policies agreed during booking apply.

9.8 Charters

  • Offers are "on request"; a response is provided within 24 hours.
  • Payment by bank transfer only. A non-refundable 30% prepayment at the time of booking; the remaining balance within 21 days before departure. Failure to meet the deadline may result in cancellation without refund of the prepayment.

10. Travel Ideas (Marketing Content)

The ideas displayed on libertytravel.al are created by our agents for inspiration and marketing purposes. Prices and availability are not guaranteed and may change. The customer must verify the current details before confirming. An "Idea" saved in an account is not a confirmed booking — it merely reflects the rates at the moment of saving and must be reconfirmed before proceeding to payment.

11. Summary of Cancellation/Change Policies by Product

| Product | Main policy |

Flights — According to the airline and fare type; non-refundable fares cannot be cancelled

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania. Any dispute not resolved amicably is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tirana District Court.

Before any legal proceedings, the parties shall attempt to resolve the dispute through direct negotiation; if no resolution is reached within 30 calendar days from the official notice, either party may apply to the competent court.
